NeoStat® VXI Interlocking ESD Flooring
NeoStat® VXI Interlocking ESD Flooring is a high quality interlocking ESD floor tile with conductive properties (Rg <1.0 x 106 Ω) . NeoStat VXI has the physical and ESD performance of a permanently bonded ESD floor installation.
Key benefits of NeoStat® VXI Interlocking ESD Flooring:
- Resistance to ground (Rg) is below 1.0 x 106 Ω meaning NeoStat VXI is considered conductive
- Typical body voltage generation (in conjunction with ESD footwear) of just 20 volts
- Suitable for use in ISO2 Cleanrooms
- Simple to fit without adhesive
- Minimal floor preparation required
- Can be easily removed and re-used
- Low ongoing maintenance costs
- Resistance to heavy point loads, ideal where heavy equipment will be used, such as FLTs
- Excellent resistance to chemicals (EN ISO 26987)
- Dimensions: 60 x 60cm
- Tile thickness: >10mm
- 70% Recycled Content
With resistance to ground (Rg) below 1.0 x 106 Ω and typical body voltage generation (in conjunction with ESD footwear) of just 20 volts, NeoStat VXI has exceptional static control performance, suitable for all areas where ESD risk is present including ISO2 cleanrooms.
Each tile has an overall thickness of 10mm, comprising a 2mm thick conductive surface and an 8mm thick conductive honeycomb backing which gives it its exceptional strength. The interlocking feature is concealed under the tile so the finished floor is free from visible joins.
NeoStat VXI vinyl interlocking tiles are ideal for a quick and simple installation or where machinery cannot be relocated prior to the ESD floor installation. Installation requires little or no subfloor preparation making it the ideal flooring for areas where fumes, dust and disruption that can be created by installing a bonded floor cannot be tolerated, or just where ease of installation is required. NeoStat VXI is also a popular option where there may be a requirement to remove or relocate the ESD floor at a later date, therefore extending the return on investment.
ESD Flooring Installation
Where the condition of the existing floor permits, VXI vinyl ESD floor tiles can be laid directly onto a grid of copper tape with often none or limited subfloor preparation and no requirement for conductive adhesive or conductive lay flat tubing. Due to the conductive composition of the tile copper tape does not need to be present under every tile as the lugs of the tiles are conductive.
SSE offers a complete package including installation or can supply the material for self-install.
Where the customer requests installation by SSE, if required an initial survey will be undertaken by SSE’s engineers to assess the site conditions and advise on any necessary preparatory work.
Finally, the floor is linked to an earth bonding point which also serves as an ESD floor test point.
Following a VXI ESD floor installation carried out by SSE’s installers, the installation will be tested to check its ESD performance and a Certificate of Conformance issued to confirm it complies with the requirements of IEC 61340-5-1.
Please be aware, as with all ESD flooring, due to the conductive nature of ESD flooring if working on live high voltage equipment, additional precautions may need to be taken.
